The Yokohama National University (YNU) MEXT Scholarship is a fully funded graduate opportunity funded by the Government of Japan for international students.

The MEXT Scholarship at the Yokohama National University (YNU) covers tuition fees, airfare, and a monthly stipend to take care of your living expenses.

Requirements

To be considered for the Yokohama National University (YNU) MEXT Scholarship, you must:

● hold citizenship from a country designated by MEXT. 

● have a minimum CGPA of 2.30 or higher (on a 3.00 scale).

● be recommended by one of YNU’s partner universities, an associated university, or YNU itself.

● provide evidence of your English or Japanese language skills through relevant certifications.

● secure a Conditional Acceptance Form from a YNU academic advisor.

● Recommendation Letter addressed to YNU’s president

● Proof of language proficiency

● Passport copy.

● Upload your completed application through the online portal during the application period: 20 December 2024 – 7 January 2025.

● If selected, you’ll arrive in Japan by the end of September 2025 to begin your education
