JOB SUMMARY

This position as Major Gifts specialist will play a crucial role in developing and implementing strategies to cultivate and steward major donors, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with donors, securing major gifts, and advancing the fundraising goals of MedGlobal.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Identify and research potential major donors whose values align with the organization’s mission.

Develop and implement strategies for cultivating relationships with major donors, engaging them in MedGlobals mission, programs, and impact.

Attend events and networking opportunities to connect with potential major donors.

Develop and execute solicitation plans, making direct asks for major gifts.

Work closely with the leadership team, board members, and other stakeholders to facilitate the solicitation process.

Ensure proper and timely acknowledgment of major gifts.

Implement stewardship plans to cultivate long-term relationships with major donors, keeping them informed of the impact of their contributions.

Manage relationships with a portfolio of major donors.

Implements fundraising strategies from individuals through major gift campaigns, personal cultivation/solicitation, planned giving vehicles and special events designed for individual donors.

Maintains and provides accurate records of all donor-related activities.

Serves as a well-informed representative and advocate for MedGlobal.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of donor interactions in the organization’s donor database.

Provide regular reports on major gifts progress to the Director of Fundraising

Performs other related duties as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as nonprofit management, business administration, or communications.

Proven experience in fundraising, particularly in major gifts solicitation, with a track record of securing significant donations.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with donors and collaborating with internal teams.

Proficiency in using fundraising software and donor databases for tracking and managing donor relationships.

Demonstrated ability to set and achieve fundraising goals, including securing major gifts at predetermined levels annually.

Experience in event planning and management, particularly in organizing donor cultivation and recognition events.

Familiarity with development operations, including reporting, research, and analysis, to support fundraising efforts.

Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills to develop effective fundraising strategies and stewardship practices.

Ability to work collaboratively with senior leadership, board members, volunteers, and other departments to align fundraising efforts and achieve organizational objectives.

Strong attention to detail and ability to track progress using specific metrics for reporting purposes.

Commitment to the mission and values of MedGlobal and passion for humanitarian work.

Skilled in public speaking and brand ambassadorship

Readiness to travel and meet with donors and key stakeholders
