Job Title: Pharmacologist

Location: Victoria Island, Lagos

Job Summary

A Pharmacologist is a scientist who studies the effects of drugs and other chemical substances on biological systems.

They conduct research to develop and test new medications, improve existing treatments, and ensure drug safety and efficacy.

Responsibilities

● Conduct laboratory and clinical research on drugs and their interactions with biological systems.

● Develop and test new pharmaceuticals to treat diseases and medical conditions.

● Analyze the safety, effectiveness, and side effects of drugs.

● Work with medical professionals, chemists, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with drug regulations.

● Perform experiments to study drug absorption, metabolism, and excretion.

● Write research papers, reports, and regulatory documents.

● Evaluate drug interactions and potential risks to public health.

● Collaborate with pharmaceutical companies, universities, and government agencies.

 Education, Experience and Qualification

● Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Pharmacy (BPharm).

● Valid pharmacist license as per local regulatory authority is a plus

● Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a retail, pharmaceutical, health care or hospital pharmacy setting is preferred.

Skills and Competencies:

● Strong analytical and research skills.

● Knowledge of laboratory techniques and data analysis.

● Understanding of drug regulations and compliance.

● Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities

● Strong written and verbal communication skills.
